Distinguished Adjunct Teaching Award

Award applications may be submitted here: https://gnosis.usfca.edu/awards/

Each spring since 1990, the University of San Francisco Part-time Faculty Association and the University of San Francisco has conferred up to five awards of $2000 each to adjunct faculty. We invite you to self-nominate or nominate an adjunct professor for the annual Distinguished Adjunct Teaching Award. Criteria for selection are:

  • completion of a minimum of 16 units

  • evidence over a period of time at USF of extraordinary dedication to teaching and to students

  • innovative and gifted approaches to teaching and to the classroom

The committee's decision will be based on the quality (not the quantity) of the materials submitted by the candidate. The materials should include only achievements at USF (not from other institutions).  Up to five selected recipients will each receive a framed certificate and a $2000.00 cash award. Their names will also be placed in the May commencement program.

Nominators

If you are nominating an adjunct professor for this award, YOU must notify the nominee (the committee will not notify nominees). It is recommended that nominators inform nominees of your intent to nominate no later than February 29th, to provide them with enough time to compile their supporting materials for submission by the March 25th deadline.
