Filing for Unemployment

Part-time faculty contracts end at the close of each semester. USF’s administration and Part Time Faculty Association have agreed that, for the purpose of filing an unemployment claim with the California Employment Development Department, the last day of employment is:
Spring Semester: the last day of EXAMS
Fall Semester: the last day of CLASSES

Important Information you will need for your application.

Commuter Clipper Card

  • USF provides a commuter subsidy each semester to USF-PTFA members who:
Are teaching at least one class the current semester
Do not have an on-campus parking permit
    Are working on campus

Each Clipper Transit Card is pre-loaded with a commuter subsidy of $210 for the semester in the form of Clipper cash.  PTFA members teaching in summer receive a pre-loaded commuter card with $70 for the term.

  • Window to place your order for Fall 2021 is August 11 - September 10.

  • Human Resources will send out an email announcing when the cards are available for pickup at HR on Lone Mountain.  Typically, the cards are available 2 or 3 weeks after the Census Date, usually by October 1 (fall), March 1 (spring), and June 15 (summer).

  • You are not eligible for the commuter subsidy if you:
    Have a university parking permit
Are listed on a carpool parking permit
Live within a half-mile radius of the perimeter of campus
    Are not actively working
    Not working on campus
    Are not commuting
